In 1932 Bill Paisley Sr. along with his parents, James and Floris Paisley, purchased the farm and started raising and selling chickens and eggs. Bill Sr. married Iva Mullin in 1937. In 1944 Bill Sr. relinquished his farmer's deferment to the draft and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, being part of the occupation forces in Japan. While abroad he realized upon return that he wanted to go into the greenhouse business instead of the poultry industry. His many trips to the countryside in Japan influenced that decision.

On his return, he built several glass greenhouses and also started making the famous donuts, which he made for 50 years. Bill Sr. continued to grow and farm until he was 93. Now in its fourth generation, the farm is run by Bill Jr. and his daughter Debi Paisley.
